Whitman Day 2026

Whitman Day 2026 is Wednesday, April 22

Whitman Day is an annual event hosted at the Martin J. Whitman School of Management celebrating the Whitman community and the power of this network! This year’s celebration will feature an exciting slate of events in Syracuse, across the country and virtually:

9 a.m. - Whitman Day Speaker and Breakfast (Flaum Grand Hall): Join us for this community breakfast and networking reception, followed by a fireside chat featuring Acting Chancellor and Executive Dean of the Whitman School, J. Michael Haynie. Acting Chancellor Haynie will share his story and insights from over two decades of leadership at Syracuse University, which includes his time teaching entrepreneurship, leading the Institute for Veterans and Military Families, navigating Whitman and campus communities through the Covid-19 pandemic, and serving as vice chancellor for strategic initiatives and innovation. Join us to hear his insights and advice on leadership.

Program begins at 9:30 a.m. Free to attend in person and virtual attendance option with live stream will be available.

In-person spots are limited, register today. Students register on Handshake, all others on the 'Cuse Community event page.

Noon - Virtual Dean's Update: Join Interim Dean Alex McKelvie and Assistant Dean of Advancement and External Engagement Michael Paulus for a virtual conversation on what's happening at Whitman and progress on our Transformation 2030 strategic plan. Stream it from your desk or anywhere that's convenient. Registration is required. All attendees register on the 'Cuse Community event page.

1:30 p.m. - WhitFest (Flaum Grand Hall): End the day on the course with The Whitman Open. Flaum Grand Hall transforms into a 9-hole mini golf experience, with lunch, an ice cream bar, signature mocktails and swag giveaways. The first 50 students through the door receive a door prize. No registration needed for this one, just show up.

Alumni: Can't join us on campus? Celebrate the Whitman community nationwide by attending one of our evening regional receptions. Receptions will be held in Boston, NYC, Santa Monica, San Francisco and Washington, D.C. Free to attend in person.
