Travel Advisory!
ATTENTION: Due to the ongoing I-81 Viaduct Project there are road closures and traffic updates that impact several routes accessing the Syracuse University Campus and resulting in increased travel time. Please plan accordingly.
Syracuse University has worked with Waze to develop directional tools to assist guests in arriving to your parking location as efficiently as possible. Guests should download the Waze app to their mobile device to receive the most accurate real-time traffic information and wayfinding.
Additional information about road closures and traffic routes can be found by visiting the I-81 Viaduct Project | Department of Transportation. You can also download the I-81 Connect Mobile App here.
Parking
If you plan to attend both the Whitman reception and convocation, we recommend parking in the University Ave Garage lot (directly across from the Whitman School) to attend the reception. Throughout the day, there will be a continuous loop of accessible shuttles running from University Ave Garage to Gate A at the Dome. We encourage all who are able to walk from the Martin J. Whitman School of Management to the JMA Wireless Dome to do so - this is a 10-15 minute walk.
If you plan to only attend the Whitman convocation ceremony, we recommend parking in any of the University lots or garages and taking an accessible shuttle to Gate A of the Dome. This option requires the least amount of walking. Irving Ave Garage is the closest garage to the dome (but still requires a 5-10 minute walk).
SU Commencement has helpful information on parking right on their Website.
Directions and information for lots/maps are located here: Lot Directions and Maps - Parking and Transportation Services – Syracuse University
