M.S. in Professional Accounting was re-registered by the New York State Education Department as a NYS Licensure Qualifying Program

During the 2025 spring semester, our M.S. in Professional Accounting was re-registered by the New York State Education Department as a NYS Licensure Qualifying Program adhering to the new education requirements for CPA licensure scheduled to become effective on August 1, 2027 (CPA-150e). The 30-credit hour degree includes 21 credit hours in graduate accounting courses covering advanced financial accounting, audit, tax, analytics, financial statement analysis and two accounting electives. The remaining nine credits include business analytics and free elective options in business, economics and information technology. Students lacking accounting and/or business foundational coursework will require more than 30 credit-hours to earn the degree in order to satisfy NY State's educational requirements for CPA licensure. Incoming Fall 2025 students will matriculate into this re-registered program.
