Kiebach Center for International Business Studies

The Olivia and Walter Kiebach Center for International Business Studies promotes international business expertise in the teaching, scholarship and service of our faculty. The Kiebach Center works to increase your appreciation, knowledge and career development in international business, while focusing on creating a global mindset among students and faculty. The Kiebach Center has been a catalyst in internationalizing educational activities in Whitman.

    Community Programs

The Kiebach Center for International Business Studies brings an international focus by hosting workshops and activities for local businesses and our students to provide insight and experience to global cultures.

    International Week

Our International Week is an annual, multicultural event developed to bring together the Syracuse University community in celebration of the cultural diversity present in the graduate and undergraduate student body. Co-sponsored by the  Whitman MBA Student Association, the event is free to the public. Showcase your heritage by representing your home countries in native cuisine, ethnic dance and music, and international talents, such as calligraphy, henna art and origami.

    The CNY International Business Forum

The CNY International Business Forum, hosted by the Greater Syracuse Chamber of Commerce, is designed to help business leaders take greater advantage of international business opportunities. Whether a company already has a global presence or is just beginning to enter the international marketplace, the forum helps business owners develop the tools necessary for success, keep current on global developments and understand the latest advances in international business technology.

    Partnerships

The Kiebach Center for International Business Studies organization partners with many other centers and institutes within the Whitman School, on the Syracuse University campus, in the local community and across the globe. See some of them below.

Walter H. and Dorothy B. Diamond Institute of International Taxation and Trade: this organization sponsors many relevant activities throughout the year, including ExportNY, IBForum and CNYIBA.

Werner Heumann Institute for Cultural Understanding in International Business: This organization is made possible through the generous support of Danny Heumann '91. The institute is named after Heumann's late father, who arrived in the United States in 1939 after fleeing Nazi Germany with his family. Werner Heumann came to Syracuse as a district sales manager for Brillo. Later, he took over his father-in-law's business, David Wilcoff and Co., Inc., an international importer and exporter of metals and electronics.
