Retail expert Shelley E. Kohan is a highly accomplished and driven senior retail executive and consultant with more than 25 years of success in the retail industry. She has worked throughout the industry and across many functions including general management, marketing, operations, merchandising, buying, and human resources. Industry positions include CEO & Founder Shelmark Consulting, Inc., Member Board of Directors ClickDealBuy!, Vice President Retail Consulting RetailNext, Executive Vice President Space NK, Vice President Store Operations Saks Fifth Avenue, and Operating Vice President Bloomingdale’s.
As retail pundit, Kohanhad been recognized as a top retail influencer four years in row and a featured spokesperson across many publications and media including NBC Nightly News, Wall St. Journal, New York Times, Women’s Wear Daily, Reuters, The Washington Post, Fortune, Chain Store Age, The Robin Report, and Forbes. Shelley has presented at various retail conferences including WWD Digital, WWD 20/20, NRF Big Show, Shop.org, Future of Stores and RIS Retail Executive Summit. Kohanwas a designated retail tour guide at the NRF Big Show 2020 and is a contributor to Forbes.com, The Robin Report and a member of the BrainTrust for RetailWire.
Kohan’s contributions extend into academia as an associate professor for the Fashion Institute of Technology of the State University of New York in the Jay and Patty Baker School of Business and Technology.
She has a master of business administration (M.B.A.) degree from Penn State University, a bachelor’s degree in organizational behavior from the University of San Francisco and an associate degree in merchandising and buying from the Fashion Institute of Technology of the State University of New York.
