Michael Chin is an assistant teaching professor of accounting. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in auditing, managerial accounting, and financial statement analysis. Prior to joining Syracuse University, Chin taught auditing and financial statement analysis at Rutgers University. His research centers on the determinants and economic consequences of financial reporting and disclosure in capital markets, with a particular focus on the role of information intermediaries, such as credit rating agencies and auditors. Chin holds a CPA license from the State of Arizona. He earned a Ph.D. in accounting from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, an M.S. in accounting from the University of Virginia, and a B.S. in finance and management information systems from the University of Arizona.
