Mission: To empower business students to actively shape their academic, social, and professional environment through leadership, collaboration, and advocacy.
The Whitman Experiential Council (WEC) is a student-led advisory body that bridges undergraduate and graduate voices within the Whitman School. Through structured representation, collaborative programming, and direct feedback channels, the Council creates a united Whitman community where every student feels seen, supported, and engaged.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
Executive Co-Chairs
- Oversee meetings, set agendas, serve as council spokespersons
- Meet with individual representatives to maintain a consistent line of communication
- Interview and mentor all council members
Graduate Representatives
- Plan and host events, skills workshops, and office hours
- Help identify graduation speakers
- Provide insights and help shape the graduate experience
Undergraduate Representatives
- Plan and host events, class-year workshops, and office hours
- Manage the feedback process for constituents
- Provide insights and help shape the undergraduate experience
Volunteer Chair
- Coordinate campus and community service opportunities
- Oversee the Whitman Impact Network (WIN)
- Manage IMPRESS integration and community hour tracking
Clubs Chair
- Primary liaison between the WEC and Whitman club leadership to collect feedback and advocate for improvements
- Hold monthly meeting with all Whitman club presidents
- Requirement: Must me a current or former club executive board member
Events Chair
- Lead the IMPRESS Community Board
- Collect program feedback and assist in development of future programs
- Support event operations and student recruitment
Operations and Selections
Meetings
- Monthly during the academic year
- Rotating co-chair facilitation
Whitman Forum
- Twice per semester when possible
Reporting
- Quarterly update to Experiential Center Team
Expected Outcomes
- Stronger alignment between UG and graduate experiences
- Greater student ownership of engagement initiatives
- Informed program improvements via structured feedback
- Increased IMPRESS participation and certifications
Selection Process
- Applications open each spring for the following year. Undergraduate students may serve up to two consecutive years and graduate students one year.
- A short application and a statement of interest is required.
Member Recognition
- Members completing their term in good standing receive a formal letter of recognition from the Experiential Center, Micro credential in Leadership, and a graduation pin.
