    Syracuse University students are invited to apply to our exclusive Summer Business Academy and gain the essential skills to thrive in today's competitive landscape, earning a business minor upon completion. This intensive, hybrid program is designed specifically for undergraduate non-business majors who want to learn the fundamental skills that will accelerate their career prospects, regardless of field.

    • Earn a Business Minor: In just one summer, complete 5 of the 6 required classes for the business minor. The final class can be completed at any time - even abroad. Bypass the typical minor declaration process after completing the academy.

    • Fixed Price: Whitman grants are available to Syracuse students who register for all 5 classes! With the grant, the entire program costs $15,000 for 15 credits (over 60% cost reduction).

    ACC201: Monday - Thursday, 9 a.m - 11:15 a.m.

    LPP255: Monday - Thursday, 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.

    • SUMMER SESSION 2 (June 30 - August 8, 2025) Online

    FIN301: Monday - Thursday, 10 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.

    MAR301: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, 1 p.m. - 3:20 p.m.

     

    WANT TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE REQUIRED BUSINESS MINOR COURSES?
    • ACC 201, Essentials of Accounting: Understand the numbers, drive the decisions. Demystify business and gain the practical accounting skills you need to succeed. Perfect for non-business majors, this course covers financial and managerial accounting fundamentals in an engaging and accessible way.
    • FIN 301, Essentials of Finance: Learn the fundamentals of finance, from capital budgeting to risk management, and take control of your financial future. (pre-req: ACC 201)
    • LPP 255, Introduction to the Legal System: Gain the legal knowledge you need to make strategic business choices. Covers everything from contracts to ethics in a global context.
    • MGT 355, Strategic Human Resource Management: Learn the fundamentals of HR, from talent acquisition to legal compliance, and create a workplace where everyone thrives.
    • MAR 301, Essentials of Marketing: Gain the marketing savvy you need to succeed in today’s competitive landscape. Covers market analysis, pricing, distribution, and more.
    • EEE 370, Intro to Entrepreneurship & Emerging Enterprises: Learn what it takes to start, grow and sustain a new business. This course covers everything from evaluating opportunities to securing resources and building a venture plan.  (Available during the academic year, main campus and some abroad locations).
    IMPORTANT DETAILS:
    • Application Deadline: April 15th
    • Whitman grants available only to students enrolling in all 15 credits
    • Students must be available for the in-person Maymester to participate in the program
    • Upon completion of the Business Academy, students will earn a certificate and minor declaration will be approved.
    • We recommend all interest applicants speak with their home college advisor to understand how these credits will count towards degree completion.
