On-Campus Recruiting
When you are ready to narrow down your candidate pool, on-campus recruiting provides a focused and efficient way to identify top talent. Through Handshake, employers can post a position descriptions, collect applications, and designate selected candidates for interviews. Our team partners closely with you throughout the process—coordinating student communication, confirming interview selections, and building a customized interview schedule to ensure a seamless campus visit.
Interview Logistics
Syracuse University’s standard operating hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. To maximize efficiency and student participation:
- Interview schedules begin at 9 a.m.
- Employers may arrive as early as 8:30 a.m.
- The final interview may begin at 4 p.m. and must conclude by 4:30 p.m.
- A complimentary lunch is provided for full-day interview schedules.
Our goal is to create a professional, well-organized experience that reflects positively on your organization while ensuring meaningful engagement with students.
Additional Employer Engagement Opportunities
Beyond interviews, we offer several high-impact ways to build brand awareness, strengthen relationships, and connect with students earlier in the talent pipeline:
Classroom Visits
Engage directly with students in an academic setting. Classroom presentations allow you to introduce your organization, discuss industry trends, highlight career paths and answer questions in a focused, relevant environment. These visits are particularly effective for targeting specific majors or courses aligned with your hiring needs.
Tabling and Information Sessions
Host an on-campus table in a high-traffic location to increase visibility and facilitate informal conversations with students. Tabling is ideal for promoting open roles, upcoming recruiting events and company culture. For a more structured format, information sessions provide dedicated time to present to a group and engage in Q&A.
Coffee Chats
Coffee Chats offer a relaxed, drop-in format for brief one-on-one or small group conversations. These sessions are well-suited for relationship-building, resume reviews, exploratory career discussions, and informal networking—often serving as a strong complement to formal interviews.
Corporate Days
Corporate Days provide a comprehensive, high-visibility campus presence. These customized engagement days may include classroom visits, tabling, networking sessions, coffee chats and lunch with staff and faculty—all coordinated to immerse students in your organization’s brand, culture and opportunities. This format is ideal for employers seeking broad exposure and sustained engagement across multiple student populations.
Whether your strategy is targeted recruitment or broad brand-building, our team is committed to partnering with you to design an effective and impactful campus engagement plan.
