Internships

The Whitman School of Management believes that internships are a critical component of the student learning experience. Having an intern on-site allows professionals to positively impact the next generation entering the workplace. The thoughtful guidance that you provide will allow a student to grow professionally, explore their interests, and gain a robust skillset that will help them achieve the next step in their career.

All students enrolled in Whitman School must complete an internship to fulfill their requirements to graduate, though many students will complete multiple internships during their time at Whitman. The career center team supports students in securing summer internships in their field.

What we hope students get out of the requirement:

  • A meaningful learning experience.
  • Multiple opportunities for developmental feedback throughout the experience-not just at the end.
  • An opportunity to ask questions and explore interests that lead to the growth of practical industry knowledge needed to be successful in the workplace.
  • A safe space that provides an opportunity to continually practice professional skills.
