Real World Projects

Real-World Projects

At Whitman, company projects are not hypothetical. Faculty partner with real businesses to bring actual challenges into the classroom. You will work in teams to analyze data, develop solutions, and present recommendations to the people who need them. Sometimes your work gets implemented. Sometimes it saves the company millions of dollars.

These projects show up across disciplines and degree levels. The companies are real, the problems are real, and the stakes are real.

What This Looks Like

Supply Chain Consulting (Lean Six Sigma)

Teams of students partner with local and regional companies to solve supply chain problems using the Lean Six Sigma methodology. Past projects have addressed inventory management, process waste, and quality control for organizations ranging from hospitals to technology companies. Students who complete the program are eligible for Green Belt certification from Syracuse University.
