Today, we had the pleasure of visiting METACOS Metallurgical Consultancy & Services SDN, BHD Malaysia, a trailblazer in the metallurgical consultancy industry. This visit provided me with profound insights into the world of metallurgy and the intricate processes that drive innovation and quality in this critical field.

Welcoming Atmosphere and Insightful Discussions
Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly by the METACOS team. The atmosphere was not only welcoming but also brimming with a palpable sense of purpose and dedication. Our commenced with a comprehensive overview of the company’s history and achievements, delivered by CEO Dr. Lim Ching Liang. His passion for metallurgy and commitment to excellence set the tone for an enlightening day.

Cutting-Edge Laboratories and State-of-the-Art Technology
A significant highlight of the visit was touring their cutting-edge laboratories. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, these labs are where the magic happens. We had the opportunity to observe the meticulous testing and analysis processes that ensure the integrity and performance of various metals. The precision and expertise displayed by the lab engineers were truly impressive.

A Sweet Experience: Our Visit to Benns Ethicoa Chocolate Factory
We had the delightful opportunity to visit Benns Ethicoa Chocolate, a renowned chocolate manufacturing company that has been creating delectable treats for 64 years. This visit was a dream come true for a chocolate enthusiast like myself, providing a behind-the-scenes look at how some of the finest chocolates are crafted.

Warm Welcome and Rich History
From the moment we arrived, the Benns Ethicoa team made us feel right at home. Our visit began with an engaging presentation on the company’s rich history, tracing its roots back to 1960. The director, Aw Kar Yong shared fascinating stories about the company’s journey, highlighting their commitment to quality and innovation that has earned them a loyal customer base in the Asian market.

The Art of Chocolate Making
Next, We were taken on a tour of the production facility, where the magic of chocolate making unfolds. It was mesmerizing to see the entire process, from the selection of premium cocoa beans to the final packaging of the chocolate products. The meticulous attention to detail at every stage was evident, ensuring that each piece of chocolate meets the highest standards of excellence.

Cocoa Bean Selection and Roasting
The tour began with an in-depth look at the initial stages of chocolate production. We learned how Benns Ethicoa sources the finest cocoa beans from sustainable farms around the world. The roasting process was particularly intriguing, as the aroma of roasting cocoa beans filled the air, hinting at the delicious treats to come.

Grinding and Conching
Witnessing the grinding and conching process was a highlight. This is where the roasted beans are ground into a smooth paste and further refined to develop the rich, velvety texture that Benns Ethicoa chocolates are known for. The conching process, which involves continuous mixing and aerating, enhances the flavor and consistency of the chocolate.

Tempering and Molding
The next stage involved tempering, a crucial step in achieving the perfect snap and glossy finish of the chocolate. I was fascinated by the precision with which the chocolate is tempered and molded into various shapes and sizes. Observing the skilled chocolatiers at work was a true testament to their craftsmanship and expertise.
