A Finance Major's Dream!

By: The 2024 Whitman London Core

Hello Whitman! Our recent journey into London's financial district was more than a casual stroll; it was an illuminating experience into the intricacies of global finance. Led by the charismatic Ian, our guide extraordinaire, we explored historic alleys that shaped London's financial prominence and explored iconic spots like the birthplace of financial discussions – the coffee houses.

Coffee houses, seemingly ordinary, held profound significance. They acted as more than just popular joints for serving tastey drinks, but as the breeding grounds for monetary business. It’s certainly food for thought, or rather “sips for business tips”. We also made pitstops at Bloomberg's European Headquarters and the Royal Exchange, both buildings showcasing the evolution of financial markets and the district’s unique architecture. As you can see in our pic outside the Royal Exchange, weather was not on our side. Although we were met with London’s famous rain, with such relevant information to our business interests, we couldn’t help but want to carry on!

This tour is a gem for any student eager to understand the dynamic world of finance. We want to give a special thanks to our guide for curating this walk with an engaging narrative, leaving us with a deeper appreciation of the ever-evolving financial landscape and the UK's economy. Here's to more enlightening opportunities!
