Syracuse University Talks Business Webinar: Blockchain/Crypto/Web3: Implications for Supply Chain and Finance

This webinar will provide an overview of the industry practices of blockchain and crypto applications in supply chain and finance. The presenters will cover different types of blockchain applications in supply chain management, and crypto tokens and associated financing issues. In addition, they will talk about the most recent trending topic of Web3, and its implications for supply chains and businesses in general.

Moderator and Presenter:

Fasheng Xu is a tenure-track assistant professor of supply chain management. He teaches classes in supply chain management. His general research agenda lies in the interface of operations, finance, and economics. In particular, Fasheng is interested in studying emerging operations issues driven by either new technologies or business model innovations. His current research is mainly focused on topics like blockchain technology, supply chain finance, crowdfunding, livestream shopping, and data privacy regulations. He received a Ph.D. in operations management from Olin Business School, Washington University in St. Louis.

Presenter:

Rowena J. Gan is an assistant professor of information technology and operations management at the Cox School of Business, Southern Methodist University. Rowena got her Ph.D. from the Wharton School of Business, at the University of Pennsylvania. She is an active and well-known researcher in the area of finance-operations interface, blockchain in supply chains, business model innovation and service operations, with a focus on blockchain and tokenomics. At SMU, she is also teaching a Master level course: Blockchain & Cryptocurrencies in Business.
