Professor Maritan studies strategy processes and her research examines how firms build and use capabilities, with a focus on resource allocation activities and decisions.

Her work has been pulished in leading outlets such as the Strategic Management Journal, Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science, and Journal of Management.

Before entering academia, she worked as a mining engineer and as a corporate banker in North America and Europe.
Professor Maritan teaches strategic management at the undergraduate, MBA, and PhD levels.
Professor Maritan studies strategy processes and her research examines how firms build and use capabilities, with a focus on resource allocation activities and decisions.

Her work has been published in leading outlets such as the Strategic Management Journal, Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science, and Journal of Management.

She recently completed three terms as Co-Chair of the Strategy Research Foundation, the research funding body of the Strategic Management Society and is a former Associate Editor of the Strategic Management Journal and former Senior Associate Editorof the Journal of Management. Professor Maritan serves on the edtorial boards of Academy of Management Review, Strategy Science, and Strategic Management Review.
