Eric Mead is an audit professional with 20+ years of experience in internal and external audit roles. He currently works for Voya Financial and is the head of the Financial Control Risk team. In this role, Professor Mead is responsible for leading Voya's Sarbanes-Oxley program and assessing the company's internal controls over financial reporting. Prior to joining Voya, he worked at the Hartford Insurance Group as an Internal Audit and SOX Director with responsibility for providing audit coverage of various aspects of the company. Eric started his career with Ernst & Young as an IT auditor.
Professor Mead earned his Bachelor's in Management and Master's in Information Systems Management from Brigham Young University and he currently holds the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) designations. Throughout his professional career, Professor Mead has incorporated the use of data analytics into his audit work and has led initiatives to embed analytics in the audit process to help increase the efficiency and effectiveness of audit activities.
