Pamela Brandes is a Professor of Management at Syracuse University's Martin J. Whitman School of Management. Professor Brandes received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from University of Oklahoma, Norman (1992) and her Ph.D. degree in Management from the University of Cincinnati (1997). Dr. Brandes's research interests include executive compensation, corporate governance, and organizational behavior. Her research articles on these topics appear in the Strategic Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Organization Science, Academy of Management Perspectives, Journal of Business Research, and Human Resource Management among other journals. Dr. Brandes was a recipient of the Whitman Research Fellowship (2008-2010) and served as a co-principal investigator on the National Science Foundation SU Advance grant (2011-2016) and on the editorial review board of Human Resource Management Review. Dr. Brandes teaches courses in human resource management, principles of management, leadership, and organizational behavior at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Dr. Brandes was a recipient of the Teaching Recognition Award of the Meredith Professorship in 2005. She has mentored and co-authored numerous research articles with many doctoral students. Dr. Brandes served as the chairperson of Syracuse University's Remembrance Scholar Committee (2016-2018) and is a former member of Syracuse University's Honors Program Core Faculty. She currently is the Chair of the Executive Board of Whitman's Promotion and Tenure Committee.
Professor Brandes teaches the core class in human resource management at the undergraduate and graduate levels. She also teaches the doctoral seminar in organizational behavior and human resources management. She is a 2005 recipient of Syracuse University'
