Tuition and Fees

Syracuse University graduate tuition is charged by the credit hour. The graduate tuition rate is set by the Syracuse University Board of Trustees each year; while we don’t yet know the tuition for the 2026-27 academic year, you can use the current rate and knowledge that it typically increases by 3 to 5% to help with your planning. The 2025-256 graduate tuition rate is $2,015 per credit.

We’ve developed the following tuition and fees worksheets to help you understand the direct costs associated with your graduate studies. Please note that these are just guides and that all official bills and student account information will come directly from the Syracuse University Office of the Bursar.

*The graduate tuition rate is set by the Syracuse University Board of Trustees each year, usually late in May or June. While we don’t yet know the tuition for the 2025-26 academic year, you can use the current rate to help with planning. We will update this chart for the 2025-26 academic year as soon as the new rates are announced.

Other Costs

In addition to the direct cost of attendance, graduate students should anticipate indirect costs throughout the duration of their programs. These costs include books and supplies, housing, transportation, and others; they are not billed by Syracuse University.

Please see the Syracuse University Graduate Student Cost of Attendance page for other expenses such as mandatory health insurance and student fees.

Many affordable options for off-campus housing are available in the city of Syracuse. Additionally, be sure to consider the overall program length when comparing offers, as a 2-year program (MBA) will have twice the living expense costs compared to a 1-year program.

Merit-Based Aid

At the graduate level, merit-based aid is offered directly from the Whitman School of Management. Students are automatically considered for partial merit-based scholarships once they submit their application and complete all other application requirements. Students are highly recommended to apply for admission during the early deadlines to maximize their award consideration.

These awards, typically in the form of tuition scholarships will cover a percentage of your tuition charges each semester for the duration of your program. Awards are merit-based and determined based on the holistic review of all application materials submitted. Awards continue to be made until all resources have been committed or we have reached our enrollment capacity. International students receive the same consideration for merit-based awards as U.S. citizens and permanent residents.

Need Based Aid

Need-based aid includes federal student loans, grants and more. Syracuse University’s Office of Financial Aid offers guidance on how to apply for loans and other types of aid. All U.S. citizens and permanent residents should complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) form.

Make an appointment with the financial aid office:

  1. Prefer a meeting? Schedule your appointment online.
  2. Complete the financial aid contact form.
  3. Email the Office of Graduate Financial Aid: GradFinAid@syr.edu.
  4. Call the Office at 315-443-1513. Please make sure to have your SUID prepared if you call. Due to high wait times (at certain times of year) we recommend using one of the first three methods to contact financial aid if possible.

As always, if you have additional questions or need help understanding the cost of attendance/expenses please email the Whitman team at busgrad@syr.edu. We typically respond within 24-48 hours and will be able to assist you. Go Orange!
