Application Deadlines and Review Process
Complete applications* must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. U.S. Eastern Standard Time on the day of the deadline. It is always beneficial to apply before the posted deadline.
*A complete application includes all supplemental materials including official test score reports.
Fall Application Deadlines:
Priority Deadline - November 15
Early Deadline - January 15
Regular Deadline - March 15
Final Deadline - April 15
*International students are strongly encouraged to apply by November or January to give time to work through submitting financial documentation (proof of funding for one year). Once proof of funding is approved, the I-20 is issued and a VISA appointment can be scheduled.
**We do not offer a Spring intake for our MBA program.
Admissions Decisions
No formula is employed in admission decisions. The Whitman Admissions Committee seeks to develop a thorough understanding of each applicant before making a decision. Candidates are evaluated individually, with special consideration given to professional experience and accomplishments, including potential for career advancement. Other factors considered include prior academic success, performance on GMAT, and communication skills as evidenced in the application essay.
Work experience is preferred, but not required for admission. We do accept qualified candidates without work experience who possess, among other criteria, exceptionally strong academic backgrounds, demonstrated leadership and a strong potential for business success.
Historically, one of our Syracuse MBA program's greatest strengths has been the diversity of our student body. We continue to seek candidates with diverse racial, ethnic, social, academic, and professional backgrounds and career goals.
Incomplete Applications
If an application is not complete (for example missing test scores, transcripts, essays, or other items) we will inform you via email. An application cannot be reviewed until all required documents have been received. Any application that remains incomplete after the final deadline will be withdrawn.
