Goodman Leaders Academy
Goodman Leaders Academy
Leadership is a skill set, not a personality trait. Every student, regardless of background or communication style, can develop into a compelling, effective leader.
The Goodman Leaders Academy exists to develop the next generation of principled, adaptive and high-impact business leaders. Building on the foundation of the Goodman IMPRESS Program, the Academy immerses a select cohort of Whitman sophomores in a rigorous, high-touch leadership experience designed to close the gap between academic knowledge and real-world leadership practice.
The program runs for the Fall semester. Through seven exclusive workshops, a Young Whitman Advisory Council Panel, Microsoft Certification and a weekend retreat, a leader is set apart from the group. They emerge as self-aware, confident and versatile professionals prepared to lead in any business environment.
The Goodman Leaders Academy is a selective, cohort-based program for rising Whitman sophomores (Lilac Cohort) who have demonstrated a strong commitment to leadership and professional development during their first year.
A Goodman Leader will complete the program with:
- Ability to articulate their personal leadership philosophy, strengths and areas for growth
- Leverage the Whitman and Syracuse University alumni network with confidence and intention
- Lead and collaborate effectively within diverse, dynamic teams
- Communicate with clarity, confidence and adaptability across professional contexts
Eligibility Requirements:
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Strong IMPRESS participation record and score
- Completion of a written application demonstrating leadership potential and self-awareness
- Commitment to full program participation—all workshops, Microsoft certification and IMPACT Speakers
All majors are welcome to apply.
