Goodman Leaders Academy

Calling all future business leaders!

Whitman's Goodman Leadership Academy is an interactive and hands-on leadership development program for highly engaged second-year Whitman students. Through bi-monthly interactive workshops and events, students gain confidence, learn about leadership style, improve communication skills, and gain practice in creative and strategic thinking in preparation for future business careers. 

The program will last a full semester allowing the Goodman Leaders to develop relationships with each other and build skills without disrupting other opportunities. Individuals chosen to participate in the program are expected to attend all programs.

Members of the Goodman Leaders Academy

• Engage in exclusive leadership development workshops with trained industry experts.   
• Gain confidence in one's ability to present themselves in various settings
• Participate in a free off-campus retreat to refine leadership skills and build a community among other Goodman Leaders.
• Gain insights through unique mentorship opportunities with professionals.
• Obtain a Microsoft certification, putting individuals in a position to strengthen resumes and support opportunities at Whitman and beyond.

Each cohort will experience a similar offering of programs. There are two fundamental differences between the Fall and Spring cohorts; the Fall cohort will primarily meet on Friday afternoons (September – December) while the Spring cohort will meet on a weekday morning (January – April). The retreat for the Fall cohort is offered overnight while the Spring retreat is a full day program. Applications for the Spring cohort will open in December.
