Welcome to the Whitman School of Management!

Congratulations and welcome - we are thrilled to have you join us on campus! This page is your go-to resource as you prepare for your first semester, and we’ll keep it updated throughout the summer.

As you transition into college life and the Whitman community, there are two main things to get started on: selecting your fall courses and completing your IMPRESS Program assignments. You’ll hear from Assistant Dean Lindsay Quilty and the advising team via your Syracuse email 1–2 times per month with details and reminders. Everything will also be posted here.

Academic advisors will be assigned over the summer. In the meantime, feel free to reach out to whitmanadvising@syr.edu with any questions.

Course Registration

New student fall course registration takes place over the summer. Here’s how the process works:

June: You’ll receive a survey used by your academic advisor to determine the most appropriate courses for your fall schedule.
Late July: You'll receive a personalized email outlining the specific courses you’ll need to add during self-registration.
First week of August: You’ll complete your schedule during self-registration.

Academic advisors will enroll you directly in several required courses ahead of time, so you’ll just be filling in the remaining pieces during the August registration window.

Registration and Advising Webinar: Advisors will host a series of webinars this summer to discuss the process of finalizing fall course schedules. We encourage all students to attend one of these sessions to feel confident throughout the registration process.
