Increasing Your Visibility
At Whitman, we believe there is no one method or medium for engaging students. We provide a variety of options for interacting with potential employees both formally and informally, and in one-on-one as well as in small or large group settings. From ‘Office Hours’ to information sessions, our team will assist you in connecting with students through interesting venues.
We are happy to assist in the promotion of your recruiting events. Please provide a branded powerpoint slide and we will advertise throughout our building with the use of plasma screens, email blasts and social media. Additional promotional materials and handouts can be sent directly to our office at 721 University Avenue, Suite 115, Syracuse, NY 13244.
Information Sessions
Information sessions are formal corporate presentations to educate students about your corporation and the recruitment process. We host Information Sessions from 5:30 p.m. - 7 p.m., Monday-Thursday in the Whitman School. Each room is equipped with full AV capacity. We can provide you with options should you choose to provide refreshments. To schedule an information session please visit Handshake or contact Sue Clayton, senior recruiting specialist, at 315.443.5548.
Unique Venues
Corporations have found success in building relationships with students through interesting venues. From eating clams at the Barking Gull on the edge of Onondaga Lake to snow tubing at the Four Seasons Ski Center, unique venues offer you an opportunity to engage students in a more relaxed atmosphere, building a strong rapport with your recruiting audience. We offer suggestions for interesting destination points in Central New York so that you can make arrangements to meet your recruiting needs.
Business Clubs
Whitman students have the opportunity to participate in 17 different clubs and organizations. Students are eager to host speakers from corporations and you can work directly with club presidents to schedule a speaking engagement, panel discussion or other activities.
Speaking in Classrooms
Our faculty is open to hosting industry experts to help add to the intellectual gain of our students through business case discussions of real issues. The Career Center team will work with you to identify faculty partnerships; you then work directly with the faculty on content for the class visit.
Office Hours
Office hours allow our students to meet one-on-one with corporate representatives to gain insights about career choices and personal career positioning. Students register for a 20-minute meeting through our campus recruiting system, Handshake. The Career Center staff will work with you to set up dates and times for 20-minute appointments with students. Our team promotes the opportunities to students, monitors student registration through Handshake, reserves meeting rooms and hosts you for the day.
To schedule office hours please contact Sue Clayton, senior recruiting specialist, at 315.443.5548.
We encourage interactions with students in a variety of creative formats. Our staff works with you to customize programs to highlight your company. Past events have included information tables, executive chats, leadership development workshops, and case competitions.
