Whitman Assistant Dean Chosen for ACC Academic Leadership Network Program

Lindsay Quilty

Whitman School of Management’s Assistant Dean Lindsay Quilty and four other members of the Syracuse University community have been selected to participate in the 2025 Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Academic Leaders Network. This year’s program includes peers from the 17 other colleges and universities in the ACC.

Today’s top-tier institutions recognize that future success necessitates bringing together resources from a broad variety of sources in ways that leverage collaboration and innovation. The ability to continue to compete nationally and internationally demands a broad network, a diversity of ideas and approaches, and a group mindset willing to try new initiatives that go beyond the abilities of any one institution. The ACC Academic Leaders Network is designed to encourage this level of growth by facilitating cross-institutional interaction and teamwork among its academic institutions while developing a stronger level of leadership excellence for its participating members.

“I have been so fortunate to grow in progressive leadership positions in the Whitman School over the past 16 years, and I will fully embrace this opportunity to become a more knowledgeable and effective higher education professional,” says Quilty. “I am humbled to be in a cohort of such accomplished peers and look forward to connecting with our partner ACC institutions. Thank you to everyone who supported my nomination and, more importantly, my development and career!”

The program will kick off with a virtual event on Feb. 7, followed by three on-site sessions at Wake Forest University (March 26-28), the University of Miami (June 23-25) and Georgia Institute of Technology (Oct. 20-22). The on-site sessions will include content and discussion designed to further knowledge and skills of intrapersonal and interpersonal leadership styles, building equity-minded leadership capacity, leading and navigating complex challenges in higher education, and collaborating on complex challenges for leaders in academia.

“We’re extremely proud of the work that Lindsay continues to do on behalf of the Whitman School and our students. This is a well-deserved recognition of her work to be selected to the ACC’s Academic Leaders Network,” says Alex McKelvie, interim dean of the Whitman School. “Lindsay possesses outstanding leadership qualities and contributes tremendously to the success of Whitman. Her participation with this network will allow her to share her own professional experience while also tapping into the expertise of other high-level leaders across the ACC’s colleges and universities. We are excited about the new ideas, partnerships and learning opportunities her involvement will bring to the Whitman School, its faculty and students.”
